Indijska tvrtka Soul Slings poslala mi je na recenziju lanenu tkanu maramu u vel. 4 (3,6 m) s pravom i krivom stranom. Lan je poznat kao idealni ljetni materijal, pogotovo za vruća i sparna ljeta, baš kakva imamo u Hrvatskoj.

Goldfinch 100% lanena tkana marama teška je 220 g/m2 i široka 70 cm. Tkane lanene marame obično su puno lakše i tanje no i ova marama daje vrlo maleni čvor i lagana je u ruci. Tkanje je gusto pa nije sklona izvlačenju niti, ukratko, ne morate ju štedjeti. 😉 Ovo je prava radna marama.
Normalno je da se tijekom lomljenja pojave mucice na dijelovima marame. To višak lanenih vlakana izlazi iz tkanja i nestaje tijekom prvih nekoliko pranja. Teže se vezala i proklizavala je dok se nije slomila tako da preporučam češće pranje i peglanje u početku kako bi se lomljenje ubrzalo i spriječilo nastanje “trajnih nabora” i oštetila marama. Sad kad se znatno smekšala i razradila ne gužva se više kao na početku no vjerujem da se može puno više smekšati.
Marama se vrlo lako veže, nema naglašenu teksturu pa traži puno truda tijekom zatezanja no budući da je u pitanju lan treba ju ipak zatezati pramen po pramen. Uopće nema nimalo rastezljivosti a dijagonalna elastičnost je mala. Usprkos tome se nakon malo lomljenja ponaša kao druga koža.
Što se tiče onog najbitnijeg – ovo je doista idealna ljetna tkana marama. Prozračna je, hladi, odvlači vlagu od tijela, odlična je i za teškaše (za razliku od gazenih marama), lako se održava, može se često prati i brzo se suši.
Summary
The Indian company Soul Slings sent me their signature linen wrap in size 4 (3.6 m; my base size -2). I has a right and wrong side. Linen is known as an ideal summer material, especially for hot summers, just like we have in Croatia. There are tiny irregularities noticeable in the weave because of the nubs and snubs in flax threads. This gives a unique character and texture to a wrap, although is more usual with more expensive boutique wraps such as Go Bananas (Yarnlova model of Lovaloom). Soul’s signature linen woven wraps are quite dense for 100% linen at 220 GMS. Woven linen wraps are usually much lighter and thinner, but this wrap also gives a very small knot and is light in hand.The weave is dense, therefore not prone to pulls, in short, you do not have to save it. 😉 This is a real workhorse.
It is normal that during the breaking in some pilling appears on parts of the wrap. This is due to excess flax fibera falling out of the weave. This disappears during the first few washings. I recommended washing and ironing linen wraps more often in the beginning to speed up the breaking in process, and prevent the emergence of permacreases. Now that the wrap softened up it does not crease as much, but I believe it can be much softer. It already started to be like a second skin, although it has no stretch, and has small to moderate diagonal elasticity. Goldfinch is very easy to wrap, it has no accentuated texture and requires minimal effort during tightening. I could almost say Goldfinch is breaking in to be a soapy wrap.
As far as the most important features are concerned – this is really the ideal summer wrap. It is affordable, airy, cool, wicks moisture, is excellent for heavy toddlers, easycare, can be washed often, and is quickly dried.
